Monitoring & Sampling | Soil, Surface & Groundwater
GeoLOGIC has been on both the "buyer's" and "seller's" side of a real estate transaction. We have experience providing the technical support to the transactional process for:
- developing and negotiating site-specific assessment strategies,
- identifying and developing cleanup goals and objectives, and/or
- Risk Based Corrective Action approaches consistent with the proposed use of the property.
The function and purpose of sampling soil and/or groundwater as well as surface water is commonly associated with the unauthorized release of chemicals. GeoLOGIC has proven experience with providing consulting services for the unauthorized release of metals, pesticides, petroleum hydrocarbons and related chemicals, from machinery, collection pits, and underground storage tanks (USTs). Typical investigations include the following services:
- Soil sampling with geoprobe, drill rig and/or hand auger equipment. Soil sampling is combined with laboratory analyses in order to identify suspected contaminants in the soil at the site;
- Groundwater sampling by way of the installation of temporary or permanent monitor wells where samples are sent for laboratory analyses to identify suspected contaminants;
- Surface water sampling for suspected unauthorized discharges to state owned water bodies; and
- Unknown hazardous substance sampling.
